The Tron Foundation released its 40th update of the year on Oct. 22nd which revealed Tron’s latest developments and progress in the past week. Partly subtitled “The Tron project continues to run smoothly,” the report indicates that the project is heading in the right direction. Tron is in competition with Ethereum and EOS to claim the throne for the best operating system for building decentralized apps (Dapps). According to the report, Tron performed better than Ethereum and EOS in the same post-launch period.
In the same period after post-launch, Tron’s account number is 13 times greater than that of Ethereum and Tron’s peak number of single day transfer volume was 49 times greater than that of Ethereum. Tron’s total number of accounts and average daily transfer volume outperformed EOS in a similar period after a MainNet launch.
Tron Major UpdatesTron’s technical development team completed the “anonymous transaction scheme research” and “optimized the performance of in-memory databases.” The team is still working on resource ceiling dynamic change, resource delegation, and improving unit tests related to the optimization of an in-memory database.
The Tron MainNet surpassed 500,000 accounts on Oct. 17th. The MainNet was launched on Jun 25th and has been growing at a rate of over 100,000 accounts per month. Tron is the eleventh largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization with a market cap of $1.5 billion.
More than 20 Dapps have been built on the Tron MainNet so far. During the week, TronPay, a browser extension wallet built on the Tron network hit the Chrome Store. Developed by DAppPlay, the app can be used to send, store, pledge, and receive resources.
Coinwar, a market forecasting Dapp built on the Tron network was released by the FCC on Oct. 15th. The report further stated that NeoWorld, a game development firm “finished the exclusive Tron building in the game.” The Tron building allows players to gain rewards. It was further added that:
“Tron building is the top one in both building height and work rewards.”
Another app development startup, Scatter, is preparing to integrate its app into Tron’s MainNet.
Tron cryptocurrency (TRX) holders are in for a treat as BITBOX cryptocurrency exchange will airdrop TRX. LINE, a Japanese-based social media launched its own cryptocurrency LINK and has listed it on the BITBOX, which is incubated by LINE.
The Tron developer community developed its own discussion channel board. The discussion board already has 250 accounts.
In the MediaThe success of blockchain projects partly depends on the hype they can build and the fan base created on social media platforms. Justin Sun, the founder and CEO of Tron now has more than 1.5 million followers on Facebook.
TRX will be promoted at the joint 2018 Miss Film Tourism China finals and The Star Musical Festival to be held on Nov. 19th at the Hengdian World Studio. The tickets for the event can be bought using TRX.
