There have been several studies released in which they show that cryptocurrency market penetration is much stronger in men than in women. A recently released report confirms this issue. According to a recent study conducted by the event software platform Bizzabo, 79% of individuals registered to events are men.

The company has covered 100 conferences in 15 different countries around the world. The results show that there is a large gender disparity in the community. Bizzabo has also informed that 70 percent of the speakers at events were usually male.

Alon Alroy, the Chief of Customer Success at Bizzabo commented:

“Like the tech industry, at large, there is a lack of gender diversity in the overall virtual currencies space. We’re seeing that reflected in the attendance for these events, as well as the speakers. One cryptocurrency conference recently featured 84 men onstage and three women. That has to change.”

The company was also able to find some interesting things from this data collected by Bizzabo. For example, the United States had the largest number of individuals registered for events. 45% of the registrants were from the US.

Meanwhile, United Kingdom registered 28% followed by Belgium with 5%, Canada with 3%, Israel, Hong Kong, China and Australia with 1% each.

Furthermore, almost 60% of the registrations for crypto events were made by people working in the financial sector. Indeed, they are closely connected in many different situations. Additionally, 37 percent were employees of companies from the technology sector. The remaining attendees were from other industries.

The two aforementioned sectors have usually struggled with inclusion. This is why they are not able to create events with larger participation of women. In the future, this would have to change to make the industry more fair and friendly for both genders.
