In a big move the Tron Network made a purchase acquisition, taking control of the popular torrent file-sharing platform, BitTorrent. The buy was a smart move by the company, making sense to anyone who heard of it. After all, Tron did make note of the purchase in the company whitepaper, referring to it several times.

The report on the purchase was made by Super Representative Justin Sun. Sun, co-creator of the company, and winner of the recent content for Super Rep gave several statements announcing the purchase. The day marked an epoch in progress for Tron, considering the torrent browser has more than one hundred and fifty million users worldwide, not to mention access to billions of devices around the world.

BitTorrent was the leader in decentralization, with the P2P client software used to share files – that once facilitated more than 40% of all the traffic online in the world – making it an ideal platform to integrate with Tron’s also decentralized network. Like cryptocurrencies across the globe, torrent sites also pull power from centralized networks, thereby giving it back to the people.

The new purchase still doesn’t explain how the company plans on making it into the top five cryptocurrency tokens, at least not on the surface. But as I mentioned earlier, the more than 150 million people on BitTorrent are sure to improve the currencies slot.

By integrating the two platforms and using TRX tokens on BitTorrent to pay for goods & services, the Tron network instantly jumps ahead in sales. As to where the currency will end up on the list is yet to be determined. Tokens will be able to be used for any purpose they choose, like sponsoring their favorite television show.

Voting on content is just one of the ways users on the platform will be able to use tokens. Other methods may include paying for premium services, buying movies & games and more. All it would take is for each user on the platform to make a purchase for Tron to rake in hundreds of millions of dollars, thereby raising the price of the TRX token considerably.

Torrent users on the new company, will essentially become join the Tron network unknowingly in most cases, making for an easy acquisition of tens of millions of new users at minimum in a relatively short period of time. There’s a good chance that Tron will overtake some of the most popular cryptocurrencies in the Top 5.
