TRON Accelerator Opens Million Dollar Contest For The Development Of Decentralized Applications

Tron aims to expand its presence in the market with different interesting projects. This time, Justin Sun unveiled a new $1 million dollars’ program that aims to support developers working with blockchain technology and decentralized application.

The new accelerator program announced by Tron (TRX) will be financing the development of several dApps in order to build more projects for the decentralized platform that the Tron Foundation and developers are building.

This new accelerator will be giving $1 million dollars in prizes for the most successful applications for the Tron ecosystem. These funds will be awarded at the Tron niTROn Summit at the beginning of the coming year in San Francisco. This prize will be awarded to 56 winning projects.

On its official website, Tron wrote:

“TRON Accelerator is a $1 million USD program aiming to empower developers and foster innovation within the blockchain industry. Developer teams are invited to submit their decentralized application project, build on the TRON protocol, and compete for one of the most ambitious Blockchain hackathons ever hosted.”

The first prize will be $200,000 dollars, the second prize $100,000 dollars and the third prize $50,000 dollars. These three positions will also have free travel and accommodation.

At the same time, there will be a special prize equal to $240,000 dollars. There will be 8 winners in 8 different categories. The categories are the following:

Excellent Blockchain Game Excellent Application Tool Excellent Decentralized Exchange Excellent UI Design Excellent Innovation Excellent User Experience Most Influential dApp Most Onchain Activity dApp

Each of the 42 finalists will also receive $5,000 dollars.

The judges are going to be influential figures in the Tron ecosystem. We are talking about Justin Sun, the CEO and Founder of the Tron Foundation, Cong Li, US Head of Tron Protocol, Vincent Niu, CEO of DappReview and many others.

Tron is one of the largest and most important blockchain projects in the cryptocurrency market. The network has over a million daily transactions and mover than 600,000 wallets. Nevertheless, there is a lack of decentralized application usage in the network. In general, there are no more than 3,000 active users per day.

With this accelerator program, the intention is to bring new interested users and individuals to build and deploy decentralized applications on the Tron network. Tron wants to become one of the most important companies and blockchain networks for customer use. Earlier this year, Tron purchased and integrated BitTorrent with the intention to build the largest decentralized platform in the market.

At the time of writing, Tron (TRX) is the 11th largest cryptocurrency and blockchain in the market with a market capitalization of $1.23 billion dollars. Moreover, each coin can be purchased for $0.0187 dollars.

There are other networks that offer similar services such as EOS or Ethereum (ETH) and that are better positioned in the market in terms of market capitalization.
