GPU Manufacturer Nvidia Set To Release ‘GeForce GTX 1100’ Graphics Card

2018-7-5 23:08

After a prolonged period of waiting, reports suggest that NVidia will release their next-gen graphics card in August this year. Initially, the cards will be shipped to NVidia's add-in-board partners. Nonetheless, the announcement of the impending launch is expected to come before the commencement of the shipping process. This recent development seemingly contrasts with the widespread rumors that NVidia would delay the production of the advanced GPUS because the current units are still in stock, and in large numbers too.

As of now, the shipping of the first batch of the GPUs is scheduled to start as early as next month (August 2018). The initial graphics cards will be exclusively used for development purposes, with each partner receiving a maximum of 300 GPUs. However, no one knows the naming system that the cards would adopt, though previous trends suggest that is will most probably fall under the GeForce GTX 1180 range. The GPUs designs will be based on NVidia’s proprietary cutting-edge architecture known as Turing.

Additionally, TSMC has also affirmed that they have initiated the mass production of NVidia 7nm graphics cards. According to experts, his implies that the next-gen GPU's Turing architecture is based on the 7nm process. Furthermore, TMSC also indicated that the production of the GPUS would increase substantially a month after the official launch event is conducted. The new GPUs are expected to deliver monstrous preface levels, exceeding the impressive benchmarks set by the current king of GPUs, the NVidia GeForce GTX 1080Ti.

As a result of the upcoming GPU launch, Power Logic, a firm that deals with manufacturing of Collin fans, expects to rake in massive amounts of income later this year. As per Wen-Feng, Power Logic’s chairperson, the company’s revenue is primarily sourced from the sale of cooling fans for gaming computers. Therefore, with NVidia launching the next-gen CPU next month, he expects the profit levels to soar considerably.

Recently, VideoCardz, a popular gaming hardware website, also reported that NVidia has started sending invitations for its impending event slated for August 21st. While the invite does not explicitly state that the card will be launched during the meet, it promises that a new game will be inaugurated. As per the site, NVidia would not have paid for the trip if the subject of the meeting was trivial. Also, NVidia’s main competitor AMD is said to be planning a similar event, although the details are still scanty.

Hardcore gamers are perhaps the biggest beneficiaries of the ongoing development of next-gen graphics cards. A massive influx of such GPUs is likely to drive down the price which had risen significantly due to the massive demand by cryptocurrency miners. Hopefully, the costs will become favorable by the end of this year.
