Ethereum [ETH] and Tron [TRX] Price Analysis: ETH reaches an impasse as bears continue to dominate TRX

Over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin [BTC] crossed the $5500 mark, collectively boosting the market and improving the valuations of top altcoins. Ethereum [ETH], the largest crypto after Bitcoin, built on the momentum and exhibited a growth of 2.75 percent over the last 24 hours. The price of the token crossed the $170 mark and at press time, was holding steady at $173.60.

Tron [TRX], a DApp competitor to Ethereum, followed suit and recorded a minor growth of 1.42 percent against the US Dollar. The token posted a trading volume of $422 million and was priced at $0.025.

The one-day chart for Ethereum indicated sideways movement between the new support of $125 and the resistance line at $180.84. The uptrend extended from $140.23 to $159.71.

The Bollinger Bands indicated a volatile period for the token as the bands were diverging on the chart.

The Fisher Transform line pointed towards a bullish trend. However, the blue line remained close to the red line, suggesting the possibility for a trend reversal.

The MACD line indicated a bearish trend as the red line hovered over the blue line.

The one-day chart for Tron had a similar trend in terms of price movement as the token lacked the momentum to cross resistance at $0.030, but held its stability above the support line of $0.021. The uptrend extended from $0.0226 to $0.0250 on the chart.

The Parabolic SAR indicated a bearish run for the token as the dotted markers remained above the candlesticks.

The Awesome Oscillator pointed towards a bearish trend, but the bearish momentum was weakening in the chart.

The Relative Strength Index exhibited neutrality between the buying and selling pressure in the market.

Conclusion

The indicators posited a neutral trend for Ethereum in the future, while Tron [TRX] was projected to continue its journey with the bear.
