Criminals continue to use Money Saving Expert founder Martin Lewis’ image to defraud investors via Facebook Ads, despite Lewis settling a lawsuit with Facebook’s parent Meta over the illegal use of his photos in such scams years ago, The Independent reported.

New Zealand PM Used As Pawn In Fake News Site

Jacinda Arden, Prime Minister of New Zealand has had her face used by a fake news site in order to promote articles aimed at Facebook to encourage a crypto startup. A local media source, ‘Stuff’ reported on Friday that multiple sponsored posts have recently been promoted on Facebook by using the likeness of the New Zealand PM with headlines such as New Investment Plan For Kiwis which were targeted at several different age groups around the country.

Social media giant Meta has introduced two new generative artificial intelligence (AI)–based tools for editing images and videos for Facebook and Instagram uploads. In a Nov. 16 post, Meta said Emu Video and Emu Edit would allow users to edit videos and images using text prompts.
