Accelerator In The Works For Blockchain Projects With Collaboration Between Russian University And BitFury

BitFury is a blockchain company that focuses primarily on Bitcoin software. They have decided to expand their reach to help the industry thrive by partnering with Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. Their work together will make it possible to create an accelerator that helps with budding blockchain project.

Along with this support, there will be new courses and educational resources from the university, meant for “training specialists who are able to create innovative projects using digital technologies in a short time.” Furthermore, this type of help will make it possible for specialists to “bring the projects to market amid the new industrial revolution,” according to Dmitry Ufaev, who is the head of the Russian sector for BitFury, in a Forklog interview.

The Forklog report also notes that the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, Communications, and Mass Media will be heading up the project. This pilot program zones in on both the interests of public institutions and large corporations, according to a ministry official that the news outlet cites.

There are universities around the world that are starting to offer more courses with blockchain technology. Based on a research study initiated by Coinbase study, just under half of the top 50 universities in the world have a minimum of one class on this technology. Tokyo University only just announces their blockchain technology course, which comes as a result of $800,000 in donations to do so.

Last month, an advisory group was established at the University of Gibraltar, hoping to bring in more blockchain courses. The university is allegedly involved in a group effort involving several technology firms, the local government, and the New Technologies in Education group.

BitFury recently finished an $80 million funding round, performed in collaboration with Korelya Capital. They also hired Antoine Dresch, an investment banker, to add to their board of directors. They also added Annette Nazareth, former commissioner with the SEC, to their advisory board.
