Global Blockchain technology firm BOTS has created an exciting opportunity for Dogecoin (DOGE/USD) fans. According to the international information technology firm, used Tesla cars can now be bought with the meme-based cryptocurrency.

With this development, the company has become one of the first to start accepting Dogecoin for payments.

Earlier in May, Tesla Inc. announced that it will start accepting Dogecoin for payments for its electric cars. But it’s not clear whether the company is still working on the move.

And earlier this month, BOTS announced that it is planning to develop a script-based miner that will merge the mining of both Litecoin and Dogecoin.

Dogecoin gains more limelight 

 Although Dogecoin was launched as a joke, the cryptocurrency has gained more popularity over the past year.

Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk has been at the forefront of the token’s recent rise. The billionaire does not hide his love for the token, as he always has one or two positive things to says about the coin. And whenever he tweets about Dogecoin, the cryptocurrency seems to always surge in price. But he is not alone in this promotion. 

Fellow billionaire Mark Cuban has also shown his enthusiasm towards the joke crypto asset. He recently noted that Dogecoin is the strongest cryptocurrency when it comes to payments at the moment. As usual with anything about the token, Tesla echoed his claims.

Cuban argued that Dogecoin has a strong community, which is one of the reasons for the token’s increased popularity. He stated that many people prefer Dogecoin for payments and its use will grow in the future. But when it was revealed that Cuban only owns only $494 worth of the token, the Dogecoin community urged him to invest more in the cryptocurrency. At the time of writing, Dogecoin is trading at $0.35, which is the highest it has been since the first week of June.
