The clampdown of the cryptocurrency market by the bear attack seems to be unfounded if one takes the example of XRP movement across wallets and exchanges. XRP, the third largest cryptocurrency has not had a massive bull run in 2019 yet, even when its compatriots saw a significant rise in values.
Latest reports, however, may provide a brief reprieve to the XRP community as XRP transaction numbers still maintained at a healthy level. XRPL Monitor, an XRP data aggregator revealed that over the past three days, ie. April 25, April 26 and April 27, XRP transactions were in the high millions, with movements from individual addresses to movements within popular wallets like Bitstamp and Bitfinex constituting a majority of it.
On April 25, a massive 130.699 million XRPs were moved, which was one of the largest transactions of the week. Out of nine transactions, five were from Ripple itself and the lowest denomination from the Brad Garlinghouse-led company was 10 million XRP.
April 26 topped the previous day, witnessing 151.197 million XRP being moved within wallets and exchanges. The significant haul was split between 16 different transactions and the most common sender was Bitfinex.
It is also worth noting that April 26 was the day the news broke about the Bitfinex-Tether drama, which involved the New York Attorney General. The NYAG filed a lawsuit against the two companies for possibly working in cahoots with each other to cover Bitfinex’s losses amounting to approximately $850 million. This was then rebutted by Bitfinex, with the company stating:
“The New York Attorney General’s court filings were written in bad faith and are riddled with false assertions, including as to a purported $850 million “loss” at Crypto Capital. On the contrary, we have been informed that these Crypto Capital amounts are not lost but have been, in fact, seized and safeguarded.”
April 27 saw a relatively lesser amount of XRP being moved as only 18 million of the cryptocurrency moved between addresses and wallets. The assets were moved in one transaction of 8 million XRP and two separate transactions of 5 million XRP.
