In April this year, the company has already been able to release another advertisement that was showing the use of the blockchain technology, specifically in the tracking of the origin of a single Kenyan coffee. The advertisement went ahead and explained how the coffee is being tracked all the way from the Kenya farms, how it is safely transported in the ocean and finally gets to your local coffee shop.

For the tracking and Supply Chain Management System that is blockchain based, the company has gone ahead to pitch the current use of the HyperLedger blockchain. It is designed as an open source blockchain technology thanks to the Linux Foundation. To date IBM has not been in a position to pitch to the other existing commercial blockchain industries, this is apart from the Stellar platform, even though the company has a significant interest with them.

IBM and Stellar Lumens went into a partnership in the year 2017; this is to ensure that they create an efficient cross-border payment solution that could be used by the banks.
