Vitalik Buterin: Bitcoin SV is a Scam but Binance May Be Centralizing Its Power

Even though Bitcoin SV was among rare cryptocurrency that was actually rising, it seems that not everybody is sharing Craig Wright’s vision. In an interview with the YouTuber Hardcore Crypto, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said he doesn’t find anything amusing in BSV calling it a “complete scam”. The Ethereum co-founder also spoke about decentralized exchanges and his worries that Binance is centralizing its power.

Binance Delisting of BSV Was Interesting

Vitalik Buterin said:

“Obviously BSV is a complete scam, but the delisting from Binance – that was interesting. There’s arguments in favor of it, but then there’s also an argument that this is a centralized exchange that’s wielding a lot of power.”

He also added that Binance – with the turnover of around $2.7 billion a day at present – simply has too much power.

“They’ve asked for big listing fees. They influence which coins win and lose by deciding which trading pairs they have – so it’s weird to criticize that one decision (the delisting) without looking at all their others.”

Buterin also added he had long been opposed to centralization:

“I’m sure you’ve heard my comment last year about wanting centralized exchanges to burn in hell as much as possible! I do really want decentralized exchanges to succeed.”

This is not the first time that Buterin has spoken about Bitcoin SV or Craig Wright.

In December last year, he called Bitcoin SV a ‘pure dumpster fire” and questioned the point of the Bitcoin fork’s 128MB block sizes.

However, we may have to agree that Binance acted pretty weird. Just for reminder, founder and CEO of Binance Changpeng Zhao first warned Craig Wright that he will delist Bitcoin Satoshi Vision if he does not change his behavior in a tweet published on April 11.

The community reacted to Zhao’s warning by asking various exchanges to delist BSV and creating a #DelistBSV hashtag. The tweet is presumably a reaction to Wright’s recent action against Hodlnaut, the Twitter user behind the Lightning Torch initiative.

Be it as it may, even though we are being fully supporting, sometimes – too much power, can end badly.

Open Call for an Attack Is Not the Way

Vitalik, however, is definitely not the only one who may think of BSV as of a scam. Reddit user SgtSlaughterTV, openly invited for attack the Bitcoin SV network and asked for a mining farm willing to do his bidding. So far, no one has taken him up on this offer and many said that calling for a 51% attack is not the “right way to go about things”.

By spending money to try and kill off Bitcoin SV, there is no guarantee of success. After all, there are plenty of miners who do support this network.

With him may or not agree Roger Ver who last month exclusively for Coinspeaker said:

“I think United Corp is just a front for Calvin Ayre and Craig Wright. They are just wasting everyone’s time instead of focusing on their own lives and interests.”

Let’s not forget that last week, Bitcoin SV, ended crazy with an 82% price increase in just24h. The unprecedented pump, which allowed the coin to take the eighth spot on the CMC top 10, was allegedly triggered by fake news. What Wright did was masquerading as the Chinese news site Coinbull, and claimed that he had transferred Bitcoin (BTC) from the so-called Satoshi wallets to prove his identity.
