Universa.io Platform Founder Requires A Mechanism To Allow New Innovation Cluster To Assess IP

2019-2-17 14:48

Aleksandr Borodich, the founder of Universa.io, has been working on a blockchain-based city innovation cluster that is due to launch this summer. The plans were first announced this month, which will make it possible to connect multiple techs and business brands while making it possible to find partners for collaborations. However, a new statement from Borodich reveals that the missing piece of this setup is a mechanism for assessing intellectual property.

This hypothetical mechanism would make it possible to establish financial for potential inventions.

When Borodich spoke at the Russian Investment Forum, he commented,

“If we manage to develop expertise — within the frameworks of the cluster — that would allow to better evaluate an intellectual property, we [investors] would gladly provide some financing on inventions.”

This week, the National Center for Informatization (NCI), which is a subsidiary of Russia’s Rostec, decided to collaborate with Vostok. Vostok, a blockchain platform, will make it possible for documentation to be stored on the blockchain for the applicable participants. Any service in port, like rentals for tug boats and available parking for various vessels, will be trackable through the new blockchain system, which effectively eliminates paperwork from the entire process.

The blockchain is also being implemented inn Russia’s Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Education and Science (Rosobrnadzor). The ledger will help with the main graduation examination for the country, according to reports.
