TRON Foundation announced that after thoroughly considering the proposal made by the TRON community, the Community Development team has come up with a plan that would increase the rewards for the Super Representative (SR) candidates to consequently increase the value of block generation.

TRON Community Development Proposes Increased Rewards for SRs

In an official statement posted on Medium, TRON Foundation representatives proposed increased rewards for the first 127 SR candidates. The team explained that the community had requested the increase of block generation efficiency, which resulted in the mentioned proposal.

The Community Development team provided feedback in the form of an official proposal. It suggested an increase of rewards from the current 16 TRX units per second to a new rate of 32 TRX per second. It also states that the rise in rewards for the first 127 candidates should, as a result, ensure an improved quality of nodes while optimizing the newly launched TRON ecosystem.

The TRON team also made the announcement on Twitter.

TRON: Community Proposal Is Yet to Become Official

TRON Foundation added in its post that the proposal is yet to become official and is to become active only if more than two-thirds of SR candidates approve it.

The role of the Super Representatives should have a significant impact on the future development of the TRON mainnet, as SRs should take over the role of maintaining the network’s operations, which includes verifying transactions.

The TRON Super Representative election started on June 25, when it was announced, and the voting process is still active.
