The Near Future Report is a members-only financial advice service that is geared specifically towards educating those interested in investing in the cryptocurrency market. Purchasing access to the Near Future Report provides access to a newsletter, an exclusive website, a recommended portfolio of crypto or technology investments, and other services.

The Near Future Report is the brainchild of Jeff Brown, a self-described “high-technology executive” that has worked in the tech industry for around 25 years. Many of those years include time spent at telecommunications technology giant Qualcomm as the company’s head of global strategy and development; Brown has also been involved in other high-profile Silicon Valley companies in a number of different capacities during his professional career.

In this case, Brown provides his services through Bonner & Partners, a company that at one time was known as The Agora. Beginning its life in the late 1970s as a small-scale business newsletter  publisher, Bonner & Partners grew successfully into an international headquarters for paid business and investment advice newsletter provider by leveraging the internet.

That being said, Bonner & Partners, when it was still known as Agora, had a long and bumpy history of being criticized for providing high-cost, low-value financial advice that focuses on little in the way of actionable information and more on upselling additional services to its members. In fact, the company’s rebranding may be a partial effort to distance itself from the bad reputation its arguably rightfully earned.

Brown claims that there are untold opportunities to be made by following his guidelines presented in both his monthly newsletter and his special cryptocurrency reports. In fact, he goes to great lengths to demonstrate the opportunity for growth by investing in tech stocks and cryptocurrency, relying on a dizzying number of newspaper clippings and impressive graph charts that have dramatically rising arrows moving from left to right.

The biggest opportunity, though, is a secret. He references the secret several times in his promotional copy without actually spilling the beans — at least not to non-paying customers. Don’t worry, though, Brown will tell you all about it if you just purchase his $79 membership.

So Brown says he has the secrets of tech investing ready to be laid bare to anyone who pays for a two-year subscription to his newsletter. In fact he’s practically giving it away at just $79. He must be incredibly confident in his insider information if he’s willing to give away these secrets at such a low price point, right?

Please, do yourself a favor and don’t believe the hype. If this super-secret investment information was so lucrative, Brown wouldn’t be sharing it with anyone — he’d be investing heavily himself and keeping it on the down low so he doesn’t have to share that success.

So what is Brown doing, then? It’s fairly obvious — he’s simply flogging his monthly newsletter in order to increase his own subscription income. He’s especially interested in building up higher residual income from hapless folks who forget they’re automatically set to renew their subscriptions after the end of the introductory two-year period.

Is there decent investment information behind Brown’s pay wall? Maybe. Is the Near Future Report worth what you pay for? Possibly for the first two years. If you’re interested, you can always cancel within 60 days and get your money back. But if you don’t cancel within that time, make sure you turn off auto-renewal if you don’t want an unpleasant surprise in 24 months.

Also, watch out for “exclusive opportunity” upsells coming down the pike from Brown or anyone else from Bonner & Partners. Agora might have changed its spots but it’s still the same cheetah underneath.
