Sony Network Communications and Startale Labs have officially announced a joint venture that aims to explore and expand upon the growing capabilities of blockchain technology, potentially shaping the backbone of the future Web3 infrastructure. Set to combine their collective expertise, resources, and network of partners, this collaboration anticipates developing a new blockchain.

The partnership intends to be established as “Sony Network Communications Labs Pte. Ltd.” in September. Through this venture, both entities aspire to make substantial strides in the Web3 space, focusing on creating pivotal Web3 use cases that could drive the widespread adoption of this next phase of the internet.

With a backdrop of Sony’s extensive involvement in diverse business sectors, including entertainment technology, gaming, and financial services, the new venture aspires to provide value-added services across various business domains. Jun Watanabe, the President and Representative Director of Sony Network Communications, expressed his anticipation towards this collaboration. He remarked, “We are excited to announce the establishment of this joint venture with Startale Labs, a company renowned for its advanced Web3 technology and expertise. We aspire to create a global infrastructure that underpins the Web3 era, driving innovation across existing industries.”
