Popcat’s uptick to above $0.62 has coincided with Bitcoin price topping $104k.

The Solana-based memecoin, among the top performing in the past 24 hours, was up 20% at the time of writing. 

Market data shows the token has seen an 84% surge in trading volume to over $238 million, while market cap has increased 20% to over $600 million.

As the buzz around dogwifhat, Moo Deng, Fartcoin, and others dominate, POPCAT is silently looking to return to above a key level. 

The crypto market saw a slowdown in the first quarter, with sell-off pressure post the US-election-driven euphoria pushing Bitcoin to below $80k. 

In this turmoil, top meme-inspired tokens crashed, with Popcat nosediving to under $0.13.

The decline included the sharp fall from highs of $2.07 reached on November 17, 2024.

While the token remains below the psychological $1 level, it’s jumped higher over the past month.

Popcat’s gains include a 62% spike this past week. Zooming out, we have the meme coin skyrocketing over 150% to jump from lows of $0.24 in early April 2025.

The latest upside in crypto markets reflects a broader shift in investor sentiment, extending beyond memecoins to a wider resurgence in risk appetite.

The jump from $0.24 to highs of $0.62 as of the time of writing on May 12, 2025, puts Popcat among the top performing coins in the top 500 coins by market cap.

While cat-themed POPCAT has underperformed higher-flying peers like Moo Deng, dogwifhat, and Peanut the Squirrel, its relative stability signals underlying strength.

Popcat is not the only memecoin in buzzing mode. 

However, bullish sentiment means the current price levels may be crucial entry points for investors targeting the next breakout.

Crypto analyst Altcoin Sherpa shared this outlook on X, which is a further positive vibe for Popcat, as other crypto analysts have enthused.

A market pullback will see $0.36 and $0.24 become critical support levels.
