On Thursday, Spain goes head to head with Japan, while Costa Rica faces Germany. A win or a draw for Spain would automatically guarantee it a position in the Round of 16.
However, in case Spain loses in Thursday’s game, it will pray that Germany beats Costa Rica which would make Spain and Germany draw on Point although Spain would be ahead because of its goal difference. If in any case Spain loses and Costa Rica wins against Germany, then Spain will be kicked out of the World Cup competitions with Japan and Costa Rica proceeding.
