Kryptovault Cryptocurrency Mining Operation Receives Bomb Threat

A recent reporting by news outlet, Vakdalposten, covered what seems like a bomb threat directed towards crypto mining firm, Kryptovault. The firm that is located at three Norwegian cities, namely, Honefuss, Follum and Dale, were said to have received the threats on Saturday, August 11.

Since then, the firm and its employees have been alerted, ensuring that the situation was made aware to the police and handled appropriately. The Managing Director of Kryptovault, Gjermund Hagesaeter has voiced the news to Ringerikes Blad newspaper, as to what measures have been taken thus far.

In addition to informing the police, Hagesaeter shared that a request to the police was made, “to assess whether any further action needs to be taken.” He also carefully considered the location of each of the crypto mining firms, pointing out that “the one at Dale is far more accessible so we have warned everyone to be on their toes.”

Why the sudden bomb threats? Is it because of the nature of cryptocurrencies and seeing a business operation underway? Turns out, it’s nothing more than a noise problem. In particular, the threat letter read:

“This is sabotage. If you are expanding crypto mining and filling the country with noise, then you will be sabotaging the peace. I am threatening to send you some explosives.”

Employees at each respective crypto farm have been advised to vacate the premises given any skeptical signs may arise. As for the investigation, Lisbeth Edvardsen has been given the role of leading the efforts, with support offered from the local police station.
