Ordinals have been gaining popularity as Bitcoin’s price nears an all-time high. Among the various Ordinal projects, NodeMonkes that has taken the lead with its record-breaking sales and high demand in the secondary market. This article will explore what Ordinals are and how NodeMonkes has become a top-selling collection.

What Makes NodeMonkes Stand Out?

NodeMonkes is currently the top-selling individual Ordinal or NFT project, with over $45 million worth of secondary market sales in the last seven days. Even in the last 24 hours, only Ethereum NFT project CryptoPunks has surpassed NodeMonkes in terms of sales volume. The recent sale of a single CryptoPunk for $16 million contributed significantly to this surge. However, NodeMonkes is not far behind with about $11.7 million worth of sales in the same timeframe.

The latest achievement for NodeMonkes was the sale of “Alien Hoodie” NodeMonke (#2769) for 17 Bitcoin on Monday, equivalent to $1.08 million at the time. This is not only the largest sale in NodeMonkes history but also the second highest Ordinals sale. Just last week, the second-ever Bitcoin Ordinal inscription sold for $1.4 million worth of BTC, indicating the growing interest and demand for these unique digital assets.

NodeMonkes vs Other NFT Projects

The surge in NodeMonkes’ price can be attributed to the increasing demand for Bitcoin Ordinals as the leading cryptocurrency itself experiences a surge in value. At its launch two weeks ago, each NodeMonke was priced at 0.18 BTC (around $9,300). However, the current cheapest listed NodeMonke on Magic Eden is at 0.82 BTC, equivalent to nearly $54,400.

It is not just NodeMonkes that has seen a surge in demand and sales. In the past week, the total sales volume for Ethereum NFTs and Bitcoin Ordinals is almost equal, with $177.4 million worth of Ethereum NFTs sold and $176.4 million for Ordinals. This can be attributed to Bitcoin’s recent surge in price, which reached above $67,000 on Monday morning and is inching closer to its all-time high of $69,044.

Conclusion

As Bitcoin continues to dominate the market, it is no surprise that Ordinals, specifically NodeMonkes, are gaining traction among NFT collectors and investors. With record-breaking sales and a surge in demand, NodeMonkes has solidified its position as the top-selling Bitcoin Ordinal collection. With the market for Ordinals and NFTs only expected to grow, it will be interesting to see how NodeMonkes and other projects continue to evolve.
