The National Center for Informatization (NCI) is a subsidiary of a company called Rostec, which is state-owned in Russia and focuses on the advancement of technology. As such, it makes sense that they have chosen to collaborate with Vostok, a blockchain platform, in their newest endeavor. In a joint agreement, the two entities are aiming to use the Vostok platform.

Vostok’s platform includes both the system integrator for the company with their own private blockchain. In an effort to advance this platform, Vostok was the benefactor of a $120 million funding round that global blockchain platform Waves is responsible for. The technology of the Waves platform has been applied to commercial and government IT systems, via the Vostok platform.

In the agreement, Vostok will offer a blockchain-based solution to use in joint infrastructure projects.

“The partnership with Vostok will give the NCI the opportunity to develop competencies in the implementation of blockchain technologies at the municipal, regional and federal levels.”

The report shows that Vostok has already coordinated with Sberbank, another major bank in Russia, along with Transmashholding, VEB.RF, Rostec, and Transtelecom. Overall, the project's costs are expected to reach 1 billion rubles, which is approximately $15 million.

Earlier this week, a Russian shipping logistics company named Infotech Baltika, has decided to create a blockchain based system to serve their 14 ports in the Russia Federation. The new system will be tracking the services that take place in the port, including everything from renting space for tug boats and reserving vessel parking. All of these services will be logged on the blockchain ledger.

Rosobrnadzor, which is the name assigned to the Russian Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Education and Science, has chosen to implement blockchain technology as well. The technology will be used in the main graduation examination in Russia, according to reports from CoinTelegraph on February 5th.
