MIT Bitcoin EXPO 2019: March 9-10 Crypto Event To Focus On The ‘Next 10 Years’

The sixth Annual MIT Bitcoin Expo is coming up in Boston. Read on to find out more.

MIT Bitcoin EXPO 2019 Background

The MIT Bitcoin Club is a regular annual event for students and blockchain enthusiasts, held at MIT. The mission of the event is to improve awareness and the use of digital assets and to create opportunities where participants can study, discuss, and develop blockchain-related ideas, programs, projects, and businesses. The MIT Bitcoin Expo has been in existence since 2014. The two-day conference focuses on all things blockchain.

Not Only About Bitcoin

The event connects to the roots of the blockchain technology. The team behind it believes that if Satoshi Nakamoto had not produced the Bitcoin whitepaper nearly a decade ago, no one could have known about blockchain and cryptocurrency. For that reason, the team continues to pay homage to the pioneer of the revolution.

The MIT Bitcoin Club and Expo invite all interested parties and fans of the blockchain revolution to an open forum where they can brainstorm about where they have come from and on the journey ahead. Previously, the event had invited speakers from diverse projects and backgrounds. For instance, in 2018, the speakers included developers, regulators, academics, VCs, as well as thought leaders in the blockchain and crypto space, among others.

The 6th Annual Expo

The sixth Annual Expo will take place on March 9 and 10, 2019 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston, USA. The last year’s theme was!=$, read as “not equals fiat.” The event was organized at the end of an unbelievable bull market and just nearly, everything was attracted to “the blockchain,” which created ICO frenzy.

In 2019, the event plans to dissect the hype and separate it from the reality. Bitcoin, which is the first decentralized currency, has been in existence for about ten years at the time of writing. The participants of the event would be interested in knowing what the next ten years would look like.

They would be interested in knowing where Ethereum succeeded and Bitcoin didn’t, what new communities can learn from their shortcomings, and whether lightning network as well as other multi-layer infrastructure will drive the world to a new global currency.

The team believes that if it can be sure of anything, there will be a big difference in the next ten years. Currently, the meeting point of the digital and physical worlds is just getting established.

Looking Into The Present Challenges

The 2019 Bitcoin Expo will look into the present challenges and how they can affect the growth and development of the new digital ecosystem. Two months from now, they invite every interested person to have an open conversation with stakeholders on the ground. Some of the topics to be addressed during the event include:

Scalability Regulatory concerns UX challenges Token economics User adoption Vulnerabilities Solutions currently under development

The expo will be a learning platform for everyone, both enthusiasts and starters in the blockchain and crypto space alike. Importantly, the organizers are excited to bring together a suitable venue to establish meaningful network and motivate everyone for the journey ahead.
