Ripple and XRP are known to get a lot of support from their vast community on social media. It’s no secret that XRP enthusiasts believe that the digital asset will act as a bridge between the traditional financial and cryptocurrency world.

Ripple believers feel that XRP delivers where other cryptocurrencies do not. They think XRP’s speed and liquidity make it the perfect asset to link currencies all over the world.

Santiago Velez, on Twitter, expanded on what the theory of being a bridge currency entails.

XRP Endgame Theory:
1/ In the following tweet thread I present my thesis for why I believe the XRP Ledger, and by extension, the XRP digital asset will be the dominant bridge currency in the world. I stand by this thesis until new information/technology presents itself.

He goes on to predict that XRP will probably not be widely used by everyday consumers.

2/ First, what I DON’T think will happen with XRP. The Federal Reserve will not use it, IMF will not use it, World Bank will not use it, average consumer most likely will not use it (directly) or hold it in any great quantity. No central bank will use it, nor should they.

He goes in to explain that XRP could be the key to create a liquid representation of all human assets.

10/ The value transfer between ledgers will be facilitated in large part by atomic transactions by the XRPL and will be supra-national, supra-technical, and with zero counter-party risk. That is the Endgame, eliminating all counter-party risk in human value transfer with XRP.

Still, others imagine a future where XRP is all encompassing and is spent on a daily basis by average consumers.

One additional point though. If these institutions use XRP as a bridge, it also means they are capable of accepting XRP as a currency itself. This alone has massive impact on adoption of digital assets in general and XRP specifically. This, I believe, is the true price driver.

Acceptance of XRP in a free market situation is what most XRP enthusiasts still believe will push the value of the digital asset.

It will be market makers that accept XRP, and facilitate an Orderbook to convert the value’s denomination. Not companies holding XRP, maybe bank subsidiaries, or independent market makers.

It seems that cryptocurrency enthusiasts most believe, or at least want to believe, that the ability to spend tokens freely and easily will be the biggest catalyst for the price climbing.
