Blockchain is generally considered something for experienced technology professionals. However, the growing worldwide interest in this technology means that many new, young fresh faces are now entering the world of the blockchain. The IOTA Foundation is setting the standard of inclusivity of such talents with the introduction of a young Dutch full stack programmer to its team.

In a blog post dedicated to its most recent hire, IOTA asked its users and stakeholders to welcome Brord van Wierst. He is a full stack programmer who graduated with a Bachelors in Computer Science from the Hogeschool Arnhem Nijmegen in the Netherlands. The young talent is focused on developing server-side data management and complex programming infrastructure.

He showed interest in programs since an early age and started experimenting and “attempting to reinvent the wheel for practice,” claims the blog post. He has diverse programming interests. He also wrote about his interest in crypto in the blog post.

Talking about his first experience with cryptocurrency, he said that he was interested right when he heard about it. He added:

“I feel like it is an important step towards a better future.”

He went on to say that because of the downsides and limitations of the traditional blockchain infrastructure, he didn’t think it could become a solution for the future.

Making one bold statement after another, van Wierst noted that he wasn’t making enough contribution to the world after his studies, and it bothered him. He was certain that creating a game or a social media platform will not change the world. However, he believes that his work with IOTA will help him and his cause, and he will work to create a better future.

The IOTA Foundation ended the blog post with a bold message:

“He is a great example that enthusiasm, ability, and drive can make you an integral part of any team.”

The Foundation also recently added Janine Hartel, who previously worked at Volkswagen Group owned MHP as a senior project manager to its Mobility & Automotive adoption team. Hartel has a major in mechanical engineering.
