Hu-manity.co has launched the Hu-manity.org Fellows program to champion the digital rights of choice and continuous consent for everyone, everywhere.

Hu-manity.co was created to develop human rights and corollary sovereign laws in a distributed manner. The company is working to make sure that the digital data trail people leave behind daily become data sets that can positively impact their lives and community. According to Dr. Shari Langemak, who joins as a new Fellow and has an MD, PhD, and MBA, everything we do increasingly is collected as data. We each produce a digital data trail daily that should impact our lives and community. Shari has strongly advocated for personal healthcare data rights for individuals in Germany for several years.

As both a freedom and as a data right, we should be able to decide for ourselves the contexts where sharing personal data sets benefit us and our communities — or opt to not share certain data sets if we so choose. This includes the ability to update specific data sharing consent clauses or limitations at a more granular level.

The Fellows represent a plurality of perspectives, including a diversity of expertise in areas including legal, finance, healthcare, education and commerce include: Keerthika Subramanian, JD; Derry Goberdhansingh; Shari Langemak, MD PhD; Craig Lipset; Stephanie Wander; John Dundas; Mei Lin Fung; Kristen Laughlin; Nathana Sharma, JD; David Bray, PhD.

“As Fellows, we all believe you should be able to update your choices at any time about when, where, and with whom you are willing to share personal data. explains Dr. David Bray, Executive Director for the People-Centered Internet coalition and a new Fellow joining the Hu-manity movement as Chief Philanthropy Officer.

He adds that the Hu-manity.org Fellows all are positive #ChangeAgents who seek a world where we each can decide for ourselves how we share our data to benefit local communities, organizations, and the world as a whole.

On his part, Mei Lin Fung, one of the original pioneers of Customer Relationship Management, co-founder of the People-Centered Internet coalition, and a new Hu-manity Fellow, said,

“We need the Hu-manity Fellows as too often we are given only a single, one-time choice about our personal data. We believe you should have multiple choices. We believe you should be able to update your data choices at any time.”
