Finance analyst Zach Rector shared on X that a big opportunity may be forming for Ripple’s XRP. He says global finance is starting to move real-world assets, like property and debt, onto blockchain networks. 

He thinks Ripple’s XRP could play a key role in the huge market shift in the next decade, one that could involve around $30 trillion worth of assets moving onto the blockchain.

Rector explains that Ripple has already shown how XRP can help with fast and low-cost payments. But he believes tokenization could unlock a much larger role. Real estate, private equity, commodities, and many financial instruments are expected to transition to digital formats.

Ripple and Boston Consulting Group believe real-world assets on the blockchain could be worth $12 to $23 trillion by 2033. Some forecasts go even higher, up to $20 to $30 trillion. Rector says this change will likely happen slowly over the next several years, not all at once.

Moreover, Rector thinks regulation will play a crucial part in adoption. He points to the upcoming Clarity Act, which may help large institutions feel more confident using blockchain tools. 

He says Ripple’s XRP Ledger has not yet seen deep participation from institutional DeFi, because most current holders prefer holding XRP rather than using it in liquidity markets.

If new rules make compliance easier for banks and funds, XRPL could begin receiving new flows of capital. Rector expects any adoption to build gradually over several years rather than happen in a sudden jump. (This is speculation based on Ripple’s development and policy trends.)

In addition, Ripple’s XRP Ledger is getting noticed by major firms. Rector talks about developments involving BlackRock and VanEck, which are working with Securitize to tokenize money market funds. These assets could be redeemed on-chain using Ripple’s RLUSD, showing early real-world testing.

Ripple has also been expanding its reach through acquisitions. GTreasury links Ripple technology with thousands of banks. Hidden Road – now called Ripple Prime – is working to move post-trade settlement to XRPL. 

Rector says this structure could support the clearing of large financial flows with very low transaction costs. These moves reflect growing interest in using XRPL as part of institutional financial operations.

Finally, Rector emphasizes that tokenizing assets does not automatically change a token’s price. Assets sitting still on a blockchain do not create demand. Liquidity movement is what matters. The more assets trade and settle across the network, the greater the potential need for XRP as a bridge asset.

XRPL’s built-in decentralized exchange and automated market makers may help support institutional liquidity. Combined with an architecture designed to meet compliance needs, these features help Ripple’s XRP stand out as a possible base layer for regulated finance.

Rector believes the transition toward tokenized finance is real and accelerating. He sees XRP positioned to take part in that transformation.
