In its official news release, Ripple also noted that reason behind inviting Bill Clinton to address the keynote. Ripple said:

President Clinton helped usher in a period of extreme growth and adoption of the Internet, shaping what it is today. He also established programs that bridged the “digital divide” and brought new technology to underserved communities around the world.

Bill Clinton will also be accompanied by Gene Sperling, National Economic Council Director and advisor to his government, who will moderate a Q&A session. In the new release, Ripple also notes that the blockchain technology is currently in its nascent stage of development and as a result, a “thoughtful policy” needs to be developed to ensure the customer’s safety simultaneously promoting innovation.

The Swell conference will feature some important discussion on new opportunities emerging in the e-commerce, remittance and corporate marketplaces. Other things discussed will be the regulatory framework for cryptocurrencies in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East along with financial services firms using the distributed ledger technology (DLT) in production.

Some of the important sessions to be conducted during the Swell conference are

“800 Pound Gorilla,” where “experts answer the big questions around the adoption of digital assets.” “Flashtalk: How to Launch A Payments App For Millions”, where Ripple customers “share what it took to launch the first mobile application,” and “Central Banks Show and Tell,” where bankers “share their experiences with blockchain.”

This year, although there has been a considerable drop in the sales of the XRP tokens during the second quarter of 2018, the company has been expanding its operations across the UAE, Europe and other parts of the world. This year Ripple has made important tie-ups with several financial banking institutions as well as money transfer and payment settlement services.

To drive further growth, Ripple has been getting talented professionals fro the financial industry to its board. Kahina Van Dyke, who has previously worked in giants like Mastercard, Citibank and Facebook, has been recently appointed as the Ripple’s vice president for corporate and business development.

At the same time, David Schwartz who has worked as the CTO at WebMaster for over a decade has now been appointed the CTO of Ripple Labs.
