Some crypto analysts are making a bold prediction: Kaspa (KAS) will eventually overtake Cardano (ADA) in market value. Although they admit this won’t happen tomorrow, they believe it’s inevitable in the coming years.
This prediction comes from the popular YouTube channel Crypto MindSet, which boasts over 34,000 subscribers. The channel’s analysts are convinced Kaspa has what it takes to surpass Cardano.
Right now, the gap is huge. Kaspa sits at roughly $2 billion market cap after taking a recent hit. Meanwhile, Cardano towers above at $27 billion – about 13 times larger. Despite this difference, the analysts remain confident in their prediction.
Why Kaspa Might Flip ADAThe reasoning is straightforward. Crypto MindSet believes KAS price will enter another impressive bull market in the future. At the same time, they expect Cardano to soon reach its peak and begin a downward trend. This opposite movement could create the perfect scenario for Kaspa to catch up and eventually pass Cardano.
Looking at the charts, Kaspa price has been in a bear market since August 2024. But before that, it enjoyed a strong uptrend from June 2022 until its recent peak. What’s interesting is that Kaspa rallied impressively even while Bitcoin was struggling through its own bear market.
Cardano only started its current bull run in October 2024, and it’s known to be a slow mover. The analysts predict ADA will enter a long-term bear market toward the end of the year. This could reduce its market cap to between $5-10 billion, creating an opening for KAS.
The key to this prediction is timing. If Kaspa bottoms out and begins rising while Cardano simultaneously declines, we could see a “flippening” event. The analysts believe this divergence in market direction is not only possible but probable.
Cardano Is Old and Could Decline in ValueCardano launched around April 2018, making it relatively old in crypto terms. Its biggest bull market happened in 2020-2021. The analysts point out that older cryptocurrencies typically have smaller subsequent bull markets.
Recent ADA price action was driven by speculation about it potentially becoming a reserve currency. This created the highest volume selling day in ADA history shortly after the news broke, suggesting the hype was short-lived.
The analysts see Kaspa as a strong Layer 1 project with cutting-edge technology. They believe it could be one of the rare cryptocurrencies that achieve higher highs across multiple market cycles – something they don’t expect from Cardano.

When Will KAS Flip ADA?This market cap reversal could happen within the next year or two, though the analysts acknowledge it might take longer. For this to occur, two things must happen at once: Cardano must decline while Kaspa rises.
Although optimistic about Kaspa eventually surpassing ADA, the analysts emphasize this is still speculation. They suggest waiting for clear signals before making decisions based on this prediction.
