DigiByte Accounts Blocked On Twitter; What’s Going On?

DigiByte seems to be experiencing some issues on Twitter after being accused of spreading FUD regarding the Binance cryptocurrency exchange and Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of the platform.

In a recent tweet released by DigiByte, they informed that Binance could be asking their bots and trolls to report all their accounts to get them locked out and banned. In order to support these claims, the account uploaded a picture in which Changpeng Zhao wrote that if there are accounts that are spreading FUD, the best to do is to report them.

About it, Changpeng Zhao wrote:

“We appreciate those who worry about us. Don’t worry; it’s all good. They are helping us. If you feel the urge to do the right thing and help us too, simply click “report account” on the respective platforms. That’s it, nothing more.”

Apparently, the discussions started when Jared Tate, the founder of DigiByte, questioned the legitimacy of the Binance charity division. According to Tate, Binance donates 100% of the listing fees that it receives from projects through its charity. However, Tate calls it a Wash Trading team and a Pump & Dump division.

Changpeng Zhao explained that any issue related to listings on Binance will not bode well for projects. Cryptocurrency teams must do their best to be added to the Binance platform rather than trying different methods to be accepted at the exchange.

Binance is the largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume. This is why is very important for projects to have their coin listed at the platform. This provides liquidity and access to millions of users from all over the world.

There are also several reports on Twitter that show that accounts are being blocked after retweeting two posts from Chico Crypto. These are the two posts:

There is a large number of accounts that are reporting that they have been blocked by Twitter due to ‘have exhibited unusual behavior that violates the Twitter Rules.” Users must complete different steps to confirm that the Twitter user is real and the valid account owner.

Chico Crypto, a popular YouTuber in the crypto space, released an article related to Binance and Tron and the listing of the BitTorrent Token (BTT). BitTorrent launched the BTT token on Binance Launchpad a few weeks ago. In order to purchase BTT tokens, it was necessary to buy Binance Coin (BNB) or Tron (TRX).

Due to this situation, the price of these two digital assets grew at very fast rates the weeks before the BTT Initial Coin Offering (ICO). After the ICO ended, both BNB and TRX dropped in price.

It is not fair to claim that Changpeng Zhao is behind this situation. Indeed, there is no information about it that could harm him. On the post he wrote, he is not asking users to start reporting accounts that are against Binance just because of how they think or act.

Binance is a recognized exchange that has been operating since 2017 and became the largest trading platform in the whole crypto market.
