Dash Partners with Mexican Exchange, Tauros, to Lunch Visa Backed Crypto Debit Cards

Mexico’s crypto savvy community will now be able to use Visa crypto debit cards following a partnership between Dash and Tauros crypto exchange. The two entities whose operational niche is digital asset services came together to facilitate the first crypto debit card launch in Latin America. This market has been at the forefront of defining crypto adoption. However, the newly launched Visa crypto debit cards are only available for Tauros’ Mexican clientele.

The users in Mexico can now spend their BTC, Dash, and other digital assets in outlets that accept Visa cards within the country. Given that they are accepted in almost every store, Tauros and Dash are likely to increase the use of crypto at an even higher rate. Notably, the Mexican based crypto exchange further leverages its experience to provide automatic fiat conversions to reduce volatility exposure.

Dash Core Group Head of Business Development, Ernesto Contreras, has since welcomed the partnership, highlighting the potential for Dash to scale its market share in Mexico,

“We have been working with Tauros to grow and develop better and easier solutions that will continue to grow our ecosystem in Mexico and lead in Latin America … Dash users can now spend Dash at the millions of locations that take regular debit cards, and this includes restaurants, online shopping, retail, and more.”

Contreras went on to note that COVID-19 is among the factors that accelerated the launch of their partnership product with the Tauros crypto exchange. The pandemic, which has changed how we live, pushed more people to adopt contactless payments amongst other tech innovations to assist in curbing its spread.

According to Contreras, the new normal presented an opportunity for them to launch earlier than anticipated. Turos exchange CEO, Salvador Melendez, however, pegs the fundamentals of the milestone on freedom as a new world order.
