Craig Wright Talks to Tone Vays About Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Fork and How to Improve it

2018-11-14 18:36

Craig Wright is one of the most known figures in the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) community. However, he is always very controversial when he talks about Bitcoin Cash and how he wants to scale the network. During a conversation with Tone Vays, he talked about the next hard fork that is scheduled for November 15.

One of the things he talked about was about the block size. In the past, when Bitcoin Cash split from the Bitcoin (BTC) network, the main discussion was related to the block size. He mentioned that there should not be a block size because the original version of Bitcoin also does not have a block size.

He explained that at the very beginning Bitcoin did not have a real economic value. He put the example that it was not even possible to purchase two simple pizzas with 50,000 Bitcoins.

Wright has also talked about the OP_CHECKDATASIGVERIFY opcode that the Bitcoin ABC supporters want to implement.

About it, he said:

“If you consider the things like DSV and whatever else, is not part of Bitcoin and everything that we’re doing is the original Bitcoin re-enabled. That’s the distinction. So the difference they want in saying that DSV should be there is the addition of something that changes Bitcoin from effectively something that is legal in every single country on earth contrary what you see in the press.”

Wright has also said that people do not understand that Bitcoin is a settlement engine, and the central nodes and miners are a settlement. P2P, instead, means that users can transact together in a decentralized way.

About DSV, he said that it would be a breach for the law if there is a transaction that contains this opcode. That means that it would no longer be valid in America, the United Kingdom, China and other countries. Additionally, the miners would have to break the law if they want to validate a transaction.

On November 15, Bitcoin Cash will be experiencing a network upgrade that has the whole crypto market and the community waiting for it to take place. There are two proposals, Bitcoin ABC and Bitcoin SV. Bitcoin ABC is backed by Jihan Wu, Bitmain’s CEO and founder, and Roger Ver, the so-called Bitcoin Jesus. Moreover, Bitcoin SV is backed by Craig Wright.

There is no clear answer about which network is going to be successful, but the community is already divided.
