For most people, getting a tattoo is a decision that is only reached after much deliberation. But that was not the case for Binance CEO CZ whose recent tattoo of the Binance logo is circulating among the crypto online community. Apparently, it was an almost spur of the moment decision made during a recent night out with friends. And CoinMarketCap Chief Evangelist Luke’s “crypto arm” might have something to do with it.

In a recent Medium post, CZ narrated how he went out with CoinMarketCap’s Chief Evangelist Luke Wagman and Digital Product Group founder Gareth Owen for a casual dinner in Singapore. Eventually, the topic of their conversation turned to Luke’s arm which already had a Bitcoin logo tattooed on it.

For Luke, however, a Bitcoin logo tattoo is just not enough. Since he has always been a Binance supporter, he announced to his stunned companions that he actually planned to add both the CoinMarketCap and Binance logos into the mix, turning his arm into what he aptly calls a “crypto arm.”

Luke’s revelation was both a shock and a challenge to CZ. While he was touched about Luke’s decision to include his company’s logo in his arm’s tattoos, the Binance chief felt that he had to do something. However, volunteering to get a tattoo himself is not as easy as it sounds because he never had a single tattoo his entire life.

He wrote:

“I never had a tattoo before and didn’t consider myself a tattoo guy. But I am sitting there, thoughts racing through my mind: here is a cool dude, who has contributed so much to the crypto space, and a strong supporter of Binance, and he is going to get a Binance tat, and I’m just going to sit here and watch? No, I can’t do that. I need to execute, get in on the action. So I said, ‘I may be up for it.’”

After CZ decided to get a tattoo of his company’s logo, their other dinner companion, Gareth, quickly made some calls and arranged for a tattoo session right after dinner. But it was Gareth who sprung another surprise that night. Just like his two companions, he made a spontaneous decision to get a Binance tattoo as well.

Luckily, CZ’s friends were gentlemen enough to let him be tattooed first. And that was how the Binance CEO became the very first man to get a tattoo of the company’s logo (as far as they know).
