Cheetah Mobile & Nebulas (NAS) Partner To Build Mobile Blockchain Wallets

2018-7-4 11:00

Nebulas and Cheetah Mobile have entered into a partnership to advance the growth of blockchain on mobile.

Nebulas, the next-generation blockchain platform, and Cheetah Mobile, a global internet leader, say they will cooperate closely on developing digital mobile wallet products, and aim to nurture a mobile blockchain ecosystem by co-exploring user growth, project incubation, decentralized application (dapp) development opportunities, and more.

What The Nebulas And Cheetah Deal Entails

The partnership will see Cheetah Mobile integrate Nebulas assets and technology into its blockchain tools and provide an additional mobile distribution channel for Nebulas' cryptocurrency assets and dapps. Cheetah Mobile's Dapp Browser, a mobile-based blockchain app explorer will feature the best dapps created on Nebulas and its digital asset wallet, and also add support NAS mainnet tokens.

Nebulas and Cheetah Mobile will also work together to accelerate the growth of high-potential blockchain startups. As part of this cooperation, Cheetah Mobile will contribute resources to Nebulas Labs, an incubator for projects built on the Nebulas blockchain. Nebulas Labs assists blockchain startups with technical development, planning, strategy, legal advisory, financial backing, and other ad hoc support.

Meanwhile, Cheetah Mobile will apply Nebulas Rank algorithms, a universal ranking mechanism for all entities in the blockchain world, to improve the rating and search functions of its blockchain platforms. The integration of Nebulas Rank in Cheetah Mobile's platforms will help improve the discoverability of quality dapps within their ecosystem.

A Big Leap For Cheetah’s Mobile Strategy

The cooperation between Cheetah Mobile and Nebulas represents another leap in Cheetah Mobile's strategy to develop a powerful blockchain ecosystem.

Formed in November 2010 in a merger between Kingsoft Security and Conew Image, Cheetah Mobile combines Kingsoft's 18-years of cybersecurity experience with Conew's deep expertise with internet technologies. Today, Cheetah Mobile is one of the world's leading mobile app developers, having launched mobile and PC software across a wide range of categories. The company has approximately 600 million global monthly active users in more than 200 countries and regions.

As a leading global internet company, Cheetah Mobile recognizes the potential of blockchain, and this partnership with Nebulas is part of Cheetah's broader ambition to promote the development of this transformative technology. Drawing on its strengths in cybersecurity, Cheetah Mobile is prioritizing security technology in the blockchain space. Recently, Cheetah Mobile released Dapp Browser, which provides a secure and mobile-optimized platform to access, transact with, and manage blockchain applications.
