Bitcoin Cash (BCH) continues to generate controversy among the cryptocurrency community.
Bitcoin Cash experienced a network upgrade on November 15. Bitcoin ABC and Bitcoin SV were the two proposals available. Bitcoin ABC was backed by Roger Ver and Jihan Wu, while Craig Wright and Calvin Ayre supported Bitcoin SV.
Since BCH entered the market, all these individuals generated confusion among the community. They considered that Bitcoin Cash was Bitcoin and called Bitcoin ‘Bitcoin Core.’ And clearly, the community was divided on whether they were right or not.
Nevertheless, the Bitcoin Cash community started to have its own discrepancies and division. This is why Bitcoin ABC (BAB) and Bitcoin SV (BSV) were trying to have the most proof of work (PoW) from the network and continue just with one implementation. The hash war generated losses of $1 million per day for miners of these two networks and a cryptocurrency market falling and reaching new lows this year.
There are several exchanges and platforms that are already accepting Bitcoin ABC as Bitcoin Cash. However, Calvin Ayre and Craig Wright say that Bitcoin SV is the real Bitcoin. In an official blog post Calvin Ayre wrote that Bitcoin SV is the only crypto in the market that fulfils Satoshi Nakamoto’s vision.
On the matter, he wrote:
“ABC has abandoned Bitcoin’s core principles by abandoning Nakamoto consensus and trust in miners’ Proof of Work. This is fine for them to test their thinking but not by killing Bitcoin before it’s even tested properly so we stepped in.”
Surprisingly, Calvin Ayre is making similar assertions as Roger Ver made when Bitcoin Cash split from the Bitcoin network. He says that Bitcoin SV is the real Bitcoin and that it will be used in the future by several users.
Craig Wright has also said that Bitcoin SV will be used by ‘billions of people’ in the future. In a recent Medium post he wrote that this virtual currency will be adopted by several individuals without knowing that they are using Bitcoin.
“We plan to open development of systems that will have billions of people using Bitcoin in the coming years, without even knowing that they are using Bitcoin. Basically, we seek to create a system that proves the ends which reflect how any good system should be – not one based on ideology and religious drive, but simple efficiency and value.”
Roger Ver is currently enjoying the same attacks that he gave to the BTC community and network when he was promoting BCH. Who is the real Bitcoin? Investors decide that in the market.
At the time of writing this article, the largest crypto in the market, Bitcoin, is being traded around $3750 dollars and it has a market capitalization of $65 billion dollars. Bitcoin Cash is being traded close to $180 dollars and it has a market capitalization of $3.15 billion dollars. Bitcoin Cash is the 4th largest crypto.
Bitcoin SV is the 7th most valuable digital asset with a market cap of $1.96 billion dollars and a price per coin of $112 dollars.
