While creativity, persuasion, collaboration, adaptability, and emotional intelligence are the top 5 most in-demand soft skills, Blockchain is ruling among the hard skills.

Blockchain is the new entrant in the most in-demand hard skills which are about what we’re working on.

LinkedIn’s list of “The Skills Companies Need Most in 2020,” is the result of data from its network of over 660 million professionals and 20+ million jobs. These skills, according to the list can help one stand out for that “next opportunity.”

For the time this year, blockchain not only made it to the list but also topped it,

“highlighting an increasing awareness and demand for the wider applications of this skill.”

According to LinkedIn's description, there is a small supply of professionals who have this skill and they are in “high demand.” They added,

“Blockchain was born in 2009 to support the use of cryptocurrency. But blockchain’s novel way to store, validate, authorize, and move data across the internet has evolved to securely store and send any digital asset.”

It also mentions three courses to the audience to learn blockchain, Blockchain Basics, the free course) and Blockchain Beyond the Basics by Jonathan Reichental, and Blockchain: Learning Solidity with Emmanuel Henri.

While Blockchain made it to the list for the first time, the data-driven and decision-making skill, business analysis is up ten spots from last year. As companies continue to collect and analyze more data than ever before, this skill has become essential in today’s workforce.

Other top skills that are all the same from last year but have changed spots on the list include cloud computing, analytical reasoning, artificial intelligence, UX design, affiliate marketing, sales, scientific computing, and video production.
