BitHope Foundation Continues to Seek Bulgarian Foster Children Donations

The BitHope Foundation is a Bulgarian not-for-profit that strives to work in the interest of the general public, in particular, those in need. Their means of funding relies on cryptocurrencies, which are donated to the campaign of one’s choice via BitHope.org.

Towards the end of December 2017, BitHope revealed its latest charitable campaign, dubbed as the “SOS Children’s Villages”. The raised funds were said to go towards new activities and excursions so that foster children will be given the opportunity to experience a holiday vacation. What seems like a Bitcoin [BTC] only donation, was changed to one that also includes Ethereum [ETH] and Bitcoin Cash [BCH] as options. Turns out the decision to add new payment options stemmed from “BTC fees”, which according to the not-for-profit were “quite high”.

Happy to announce our newest charitable campaign in partnership with one of the most recognized non-profits internationally – SOS Children's Villages. BTC fees are quite high these days, so we have added the option to donate ETH or BCH. Send a bit of hope! https://t.co/hoLcDgQvBp

As per the current status of the campaign, those who wish to contribute to the “SOS Children’s Villages” only have 20 more days to do so, with a total of 0.0327 BTC already raised (equivalent to approximately 366 Bulgarian Lev) thus far. The option for BTC no longer seems to exist, as it has been replaced by the previous two mentioned above along with Litecoin [LTC].

The BitHope Foundation strongly believes that every donation will help give each child “the opportunity for a happy summer holiday,” adding that the entire experience will be felt by “kids in our homes at Sofia, Pernik and Tryavna, SOS youth facilities in Sofia and Veliko Tarnovo”.

This isn’t the BitHope Foundation’s only campaign to date, as its

“Support the BitcoinBG.eu Forum” has since been completed with a total of 0.0751 BTC raised (approximately 732 Bulgarian Lev). Other causes have also flourished on their campaigning page, which include supporting Bulgarian schools, digital books, sport activities, implementing a digital curriculum, and “Efir Satellite”.
