The meme coin market is going through one of its most interesting transformations. After almost two years of Solana remaining at the helm and holding the monopoly over the most popular (in-demand) meme tokens, new competition from the BNB Chain and the Base network has redefined the momentum of activity completely. Fresh metrics revealed by the analyst indicate significant surges in meme asset launches across these chains, signifying massive flows of funds and investor interest into meme markets.

Data from CoinMarketCap shows that the market capitalization of the wider meme coin market has increased from $55 billion in July 2025 to $72 billion reached on October 18, 2025, a 29% surge. As an alternative avenue for digital asset investors, the increase of the meme market indicates the rising influence of sentiment bets, retail-driven narratives, and customer optimism in the crypto market.

Base has shocked the market by overtaking Solana in daily meme asset launches. In October, the network emerged as the top blockchain for new meme coin debuts, with almost 800k tokens created so far during this month. On October 1-7, 219k meme coins were launched on Base, compared to 140k tokens debuted on Solana and 77k assets rolled out on the BNB Chain. On October 8-14, 254k meme coins were launched on Base compared to 162k tokens launched on the BNB Chain and 88k assets launched on Solana. On October 15-21, Base experienced launches of 311k meme coins on the network, compared to 109k tokens created on Solana and 52k assets debuted on the BNB Chain.

The above developments highlight that the meme coin season continues to heat up, driven by surging crypto adoption, passionate communities, and market hype. The meme coin trading has mainly concentrated on Base, Solana, and BNB Chain, with capital inflows shaping up next bullish move in the crypto market. Over the past 30 days, Base has registered $2.4 billion in net capital inflows while Solana and BNB Chain experienced inflows worth $181 million and $143 million, respectively, according to the latest data from Artemis.

The BNB Chain has turned into a reliable hub for traders looking for new opportunities, taking advantage of its lower fees, rapid processing execution, and the backing of Binance’s exchange infrastructure. Meanwhile, Base, an Ethereum Layer-2 scaling solution, has also become another reliable destination, attracting investors seeking faster speeds and lower costs.
