Aragon Foundation released an announcement on their blog on Thursday, August 9, 2018 of the release of Aragon Decentralized Altruistic Community (DAC) on the Giveth platform was underway. Aragon is a platform dedicated to ensuring its users have total freedom.

Through building organizational that are self-sovereign, users are able to exercise their choices freely whether they wish to contribute on the platform of exit. Aragon is also focused on creating a decentralized mechanism in which people are not coerced on cryptocurrency networks but rather are private and secure.

Finally, the platform is committed to narrowing the power gap that comes along with centralization. With the Aragon DAC on course to decentralize the development of the Aragon infrastructure the team is in full spirits.

The Aragon DAC

The Aragon DAC is led through two campaigns that will see total decentralization and efficiency in development of the Aragon project. The first will focus solely on development of the project while the other is focused on the testing and experimentation with Aragon stack. Both of these projects are to be led by Giveth and Aragon One experienced team members who will help the starters on the platform kick start their projects.

The Development Campaign

The development campaign is a project created to allow developers on Aragon to have an efficient platform to work with. This is a semi-decentralized platform on which the Giveth and Aragon team members tackle issues on the Aragon platform.

This project is led by Quazia, Social Coding Circle Lead at Giveth, who is a ‘Planning Tab Nest Grant Recipient’. Chris Remus, Aragon One product manager, will also be part of the campaign having worked on Aragon One’s project management team and offers key advice on how to push forward the decentralized development process on the project.

This project works closely with the experimental campaign (Research and Development) to ensure everyone including the novices in the field receive guidance through the development of the Aragon platform.

The Research And Development (R&D) Campaign

Aragon DAC aims for the best end user friendliness in providing total freedom on the platform.

“#Dogfooding is the name of the game!”

The R&D team is lead Griff Green, the Governance Circle Lead in Giveth. The former Ethereum developer is an experienced community manager with multiple initiatives such as the open block explorer, scalability and Ethereum’s consensus mechanisms.

Luke Duncan is highly experienced researcher in Aragon One. The Research Lead, increases experience to the team through his current role and overall passion for and experience with decentralized organizations.

In a tweet by Luis Cuende, CEO of Aragon One and founder of Aragon praised the Aragon DAC mechanism stating it as a ‘land mark event for the Aragon Project’. With more non-developers (end users) and developers set to be integrated into the project, it will not be one team working on Aragon but two.

Follow up tweets by the Aragon One boss, confirmed that it will be Aragon Foundation that will fund the Aragon DAC to see the advent of a future platform with a totally decentralized platform as they start operations on the campaigns. Luis is an advisor to other cryptocurrencies including Decentraland (MANA) and Status (SNT). The funding was made in Ethereum (ETH), the underlying protocol of the Aragon Network Token (ANT).
