The Sandbox partners with MAUER to gamify fall of Berlin Wall

MAUER (mauer.digital) is partnering with The Sandbox (SAND/USD) to take an NFT project called Berlin Wall to the virtual world, adding a layer of metaverse utility and gamification to their NFTs’ historical storytelling, Invezz learned from a press release. The collaboration reflects MAUER’s ambition to establish a permanent presence in the metaverse.

MAUER holders receive special Sandbox assets

This is an unusual example of utility in the metaverse. Once it’s completed, MAUER holders will not only receive special Sandbox assets, but also access to unique game experiences. The NFT collection will be completed in Q2 of 2022. At that time, work on a digital representation of the Berlin Wall will have come to an end. It will be destroyed by players, followed by a grand celebration, mirroring the historic event.

Second drop to take place on December 17

MAUER is preparing for its second drop of NFTs on December 17 at 23:59 CET. At that time, holders of the first series will be able to buy the second. On OpenSea, the collection has seen increased trading, but supply is limited. The collaboration with The Sandbox will raise demand for the NFTs even further.

MAUER aims to affect real change

The integration will further MAUER’s aim to affect real change. They plan to donate 51% of the net revenue to charity. MAUER was created by NFT incubator Forza Ikonia. Its CEO and founder of MAUER Patrik Arnesson commented:
