Ripple Whale Moves $7.5 Million in XRP Transferred to Unknown Wallet

About 25 million XRP with a value of $7.5 million was just moved from one XRP wallet to another. The wallet where the money moved from is said to be the third richest XRP wallet in the world. XRP is a cryptocurrency created largely by Ripple Labs and is currently the world’s third largest and widespread cryptocurrency.

Specific Transfer Details

The transfer, said to have happened on the 14th of February, 2019, ended with the XRP in a wallet generally regarded as new. Reports say the destination wallet is thought to be new because the balance in the new account – with address [rPfSrrKY97EihgZeAwqgR7g1tYzDDJoAys] – is not too distant from the amount of XRP transferred. The wallet’s first activity was recorded the 16th of November, 2018 and at the time of this transfer, had only been involved with a total of 15 others.

Interestingly, it’s been discovered that the wallet that initiated the transaction – with address [rKveEyR1SrkWbJX214xcfH43ZsoGMb3PEv] – is owned itself by Ripple Labs. The wallet, as aforesaid, is the third largest XRP wallet with 2.497 billion XRP which has an equal value of $752 million and 210,167 BTC. The receiving wallet is said to be tied to escrow wallets.

Other Details about XRP Wallets

Currently, the largest XRP wallet [rDbWJ9C7uExThZYAwV8m6LsZ5YSX3sa6US] has 4.68 billion XRP. The second largest Ripple XRP wallet is said to contain 3.73 billion XRP. The third largest is as described above while the fourth largest wallet is worth 1.95 billion XRP. All four largest wallets are said to be owned and run by Ripple.

The fifth largest wallet with a value of 1.1 billion XRP is owned by Bitstamp. The receiving wallet is earlier mentioned, is now placed as the 128th largest cyptocurrency wallet, because of the XRP it received.

Ripple Community Speculations

A few Twitter users seem to be convinced that J.P. Morgan is involved in these transactions.

Someone with a handle known as @xrpgiles tweeted:

“Boom ! JP Morgan have realised after three hours that superior tech exists ha ha ! “

A different Twitter handle seemed to share the same sentiment. The handle, @smcmass1, had this to say:

“This transfer must be for JP Morgan to transfer internationally to other big players that don’t want their coin. JP Morgan needs this :)”
