The global cryptocurrency exchange Cryptopia recently made headlines by hiring Raj Wadhera, the former CMO of Microsoft New Zealand. This hiring came following a steady growth surge that included the exchange experiencing user growth of 116 percent just since December 2017.
Size of the ExchangeCryptopia was founded in 2014 and claims to host the largest range of cryptos of any exchange in the world. This company is based in New Zealand and has users totaling more than two million. According to Cryptopia, the recent accelerated growth is likely the result of various improvements that it has made. These include refreshing the website, improving response times, enhancing customer support processes, and improving service deliveries. In addition to the growth in users since December, Cryptopia also increased its headcount in the last nine months by 389 percent, bringing employment up to more than 90 team members.
New Leadership AppointmentsIn addition to the growth in terms of regular employees, Cryptopia has recently expanded its management team to include the previously mentioned Raj Wadhera. Wadhera is now the sales and marketing director and will help lead Cryptopia into its next phase of user experience and growth. Wadhera certainly has the experience and skills to back up this move thanks to his 20 years working in marketing, sales, and product positions.
Wadhera’s most recent position was a crucial role at Middlemore Hospital in Auckland as the director of marketing, digital transformation, and communications. It was prior to this role that Wadhera was prominent in the world of technology thanks to his title of Chief Marketing Officer for Microsoft’s operations in New Zealand.
