Portal, a cross-chain DEX, launches its equity offering on the Republic Platform

Portal, a cross-chain Layer-2 DEX network that is being built on Bitcoin, has announced its Reg D equity offering to be conducted on the Republic platform. The public sale will kick off on July 18th.

The Portal network seeks to extend the capabilities of Bitcoin to create a more robust foundation for decentralized finance.

By conducting an equity offering on Republic, Portal not only provides investors with the opportunity of investing in a promising startup but also extends the accessibility of its operations to the wider masses. It is also a great milestone for Portal seeing that Republic only approves 3% of startups to fundraise on its platform.

Commenting on the upcoming equity offering, Portal CEO Eric Martindale said:

Portal testnet

The equity offering comes as Portal prepares to launch a testnet of its full-fledged, censorship-resistant DeFi ecosystem on top of Bitcoin in a few weeks’ time.

Portal is leveraging the power of the leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, to create rails for building layers of censorship-resistant financial applications. In essence, Portal features peer-to-peer atomic swaps in providing true decentralization in trading Layer-1 assets on different blockchains instantly through one-click execution of cross-chain swaps.

Portal also facilitates private, off-chain execution of smart contracts for swaps, staking, issuance, liquidity, and derivatives among others.

Anybody from around the globe will be able to take part in the equity sale using bitcoin (BTC), USDT, ETH, and USDC.

However, the number of investors is limited to only 1,900 investors.
