Despite all the trouble that the bear market has brought to the crypto industry and all the lawsuits that Ripple is facing, 2018 was not a very bad year for Ripple’s cryptocurrency, XRP. Recently, a fan account named XRP Research Center has used Twitter to launch an “update” of how the ecosystem of Ripple evolved since mid-October.
The tweet focused on the integration of the XRP ecosystem with some other companies. The most visible information is that, by leaving animosities with R3 and its Corda blockchain aside, Ripple had a major victory in the expansion of its ecosystem.

R3 was certainly one of the most significant partnerships. Both companies used to be rivals and there was even a lawsuit between the two. The case was about whether R3 was allowed to purchase 5 billion XRP tokens for $0.0085 USD each at a Ripple subsidiary.
As the conflict was finally solved in September 2018. The dispute was solved under confidentiality so we do not know what happened but the result was very clear: the animosity between the two companies was finally over and both sides reached a settlement and come to peace with each other.
Other important partnerships of Ripple Santander’s One Pay FX, which will use Ripple’s xCurrent system. The system was awarded a FIAwards 2018 prize, a huge victory for both Ripple and Santander.
What awaits Ripple in 2019? If 2018 is something to be used as basis, success. The network faced some difficult problems this year but it was able to surpass them all, so if the bear market ends in 2019, there is no reason that Ripple will have a good time.
