На блокчейне Ethereum запустят обеспеченный биткоином токен WBTC

Провайдер решений по хранению криптоактивов BitGo, стартапы Kyber Network и Republic Protocol, MakerDAO, Dharma, Airswap, IDEX, Compound, DDEX, Hydro Protocol, Set Protocol, Prycto, RadarRelay и Gnosis готовятся совместно запустить в январе следующего года обеспеченный биткоином в соотношении 1:1 токен Wrapping Bitcoin (WBTC), созданный по стандарту Ethereum ERC-20.

Ожидается, что “токен привнесет стабильность и ценность биткоина в развивающуюся экосистему децентрализованных приложений на Ethereum”. При этом BitGo предоставит кастодиальные услуги по хранению биткоинов и токенизирует их.

Напомним, в сентябре BitGo сообщил о том, что Департамент банковских услуг Южной Дакоты одобрил запуск траста BitGo Trust, который станет регулируемым квалифицированным хранилищем цифровых активов, ориентирующимся на институциональных инвесторов, использующим систему безопасности с мультиподписями и следующим политикам AML/KYC. В октябре стартап привлек $15 млн инвестиций от Goldman Sachs и Galaxy Digital Ventures.
