2018-11-5 20:53

Held at the Intercontinental in Malta, the Malta Blockchain Summit started on October 2, bringing together players in the blockchain sector as well as the technology’s fans across the world.

Speaking with CoinGeek, Dr. Mihaela Uliery (Dr.M), a blockchain professional with rich knowledge in bridging the technology with artificial intelligence, spoke about the link between advertising and blockchain technology, giving examples of Facebook and Google, saying that the two benefit from all the income from brands, without offering what’s expected to the customers. In her own words, she said that:

“[Advertising and blockchain] work together lovely but to the benefit of the individual. And of course to the detriment of the centralized Google and Facebook who are actually absorbing all the income from the brands and not delivering actually to the customer because the wrong advertisement goes to the wrong customer”

She continued, explaining that:

“With Blockchain, you can have a direct linkage to your customer and incentivize them through tokens, through Bitcoins if you want, or any kind of tokens you design in order to look at your brand, only if they want, obviously.”

Blockchain Technology In Gaming

The director of E&S Group, Dr. Christina Ellul, also spoke to CoinGeek about the connection of blockchain technology to iGaming, saying that the tech is a blessing to the gaming industry. Speaking about the matter, he said that:

“I think blockchain is usable for everyone in the world and including gaming…But gaming tends to lend itself a lot to blockchain so we have certain ICOs that are funding, for example, a gaming company. We have other gaming companies that want to start using crypto currencies and there’s basically a sandbox allocation rules in by the MGA now, so they really do link in well.”

Malta Government Making It Easy For Blockchain Firms To Flourish

The government of Malta has made headlines repeatedly when it comes to its stance on blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The government, led by its prime minister, Joseph Muscat, has worked to establish Malta as a blockchain and cryptocurrency hub in the region, and have done really well, considering a number of notable companies, including Binance and Bittrex, have set up shop in the country.

Speaking about Malta’s action to CoinGeek, the Malta Blockchain Summit organizing guru, Eman Pulis, said:

“There is so much buzz happening in Malta on the blockchain front, but the government has made it so easy for us to build this show here and the buzz is real, so there’s people coming in not just from Europe, but there was a heavy presence from North America, from Asia, Latin America and everyone’s just doing great business.”
