Craig Wright’s Motion To Dismiss Billions Of USD Lawsuit Over Bitcoin Has Been Denied

Craig Wright, a crypto investor and the self-proclamed creator of Bitcoin has recently attempted to dismiss a lawsuit that alleged that he used Bitcoin worth billions of USD from of a former business partner, Dave Kleiman. The suit is being made by Ira Kleiman, which is a brother of Dave, which passed away in 2013.

According to the suit, Wright was scheming to seize the Bitcoins of his partner and some IP related to the Bitcoin technology, so now Dave’s brother is suing the controversial Craig Wright for about 1.1 million Bitcoins (which are worth together almost $4 billion USD now) as a compensation.

Wright is not having a good time. Despite being sued for the Bitcoins, he has recently claimed to Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of the Bitcoin network during the fights that led Bitcoin Cash to be hard forked. At the time, Jihan Wu, from the largest crypto mining manufacutrer of the world, Bitmain, has called him “Faketoshi”.

According to court details, Wright has tried to dismiss the case back in April but his motion has been denied. The official document states that, as soon as Dave died, many Bitcoin were transferred from various trusts without any authorization and, because of this, the motion to dismiss the case was denied.

The number of Bitcoin involved in the case are still unknown, but it is known that the number is larger than 300,000 BTC, along with their forked assets (Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin SV).

According to the documents, the only part of the motion that really succeeded was the claim that “trade secrets” were stolen, which was not valid, as the laws of Florida deem that there is a three-year limitation for that.

Now, Wright must respond to the accusations until January 10, 2019, and, depending on his answer, the case will go to court.
