Burger King, the popular international fast food chain, has introduced Instpower power bank rental machines that accept cryptocurrency payments at its locations in Paris. The machines are connected to Alchemy Pay and Binance Pay, two crypto payment services. Instpower, a leading power bank charging service, now accepts payments in cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, from its customers at over 14,000 sites worldwide.

This move by Burger King is a significant milestone for both the fast food giant and the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment for goods and services. Yann Phu, CEO of Flash Development, the European distributor responsible for deploying Instpower machines, expressed his excitement over the collaboration with Burger King in Paris, saying that Instpower’s machines will enable customers to power their devices while on the move.

Crypto is a suitable payment option for Instpower’s shared power banks, which travelers often use to charge their gadgets while on the road, due to its borderless nature. To facilitate the acceptance of cryptocurrency payments by both brick-and-mortar and virtual storefronts, Alchemy Pay introduced the first hybrid merchant payment acceptance solution in 2019. In 2021, almost two million businesses in seventy or more countries participated in the fiat-crypto payment acceptance system.

It’s worth noting that in March of last year, KFC, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut, three food industry giants, filed NFTs and metaverse trademarks, following in the footsteps of fellow fast-food chain competitor McDonald’s decision to explore the metaverse.
