Banks in Slovakia, including the country’s central bank, briefly hosted a giant Bitcoin logo on their exteriors July 11 as part of an unannounced protest by a local action group. Slovakian Lawmakers Vote To Reduce Crypto Income Tax Rate

Lawmakers in Slovakia recently voted to confirm legislation to regulate and tax cryptocurrency income at a lower rate. Starting in effect, crypto income on assets held for at least a year will only be taxed at 7% instead of the current rates of 19% or 25%.

Slovakian Lawmakers Pass Amendment Lowering Cryptocurrency Taxation

Lawmakers in Slovakia have approved new legislation, with a resounding 112-2 vote in favor, aimed at reducing taxes associated with the sale of crypto or digital assets. In addition to the aforementioned tax-cutting law, members of the National Council of the Slovak Republic, the country’s parliament, have further endorsed additional measures that impact cryptocurrency holders.
