WikiLeaks receive crucial crypto donations

As an NPO, WikiLeaks is dependent upon donations to fund its cause. However, the controversial nature of their publications has led to several payments companies blocking payments to the organization. Leading payments giants, Visa and MasterCard, are among those who have blocked payments to the organization.

One of the best payments methods that can be used by the organization and avoid censorship is cryptocurrencies. The organization has listed on its website that crypto donations are now available.

Some of the supported cryptocurrencies accepted by the organization include Bitcoin (BTC/USD), Ethereum (ETH/USD), Litecoin (LTC/USD), Bitcoin Cash (BCH/USD), Zcash (ZEC/USD) and Monero (XMR/USD).

On-chain data shows that the organization has received 30.45 Bitcoins to date. This is valued at more than $1.5 million. Currently, WikiLeaks BTC holdings are slightly below 9 Bitcoins.

The Ethereum address has received 145.45 Ether tokens worth more than $580,000. Bitcoin Cash is another preferred crypto for donations, having received 225.2 BCH valued at more than $101,000.

The Litecoin and Zcash addresses have received 163.07 LTC and 84.01 ZEC, respectively. The Monero address remains hidden, and the amount sent to this token is still unknown.

WikiLeaks has also received a donation of 1 CryptoKitties NFT. The organization has received over $2.2 million worth of digital assets from these crypto donations.
